Celebrating 250/150 in Littleton
2026 marks a milestone year, celebrating America’s 250th and Colorado’s 150th birthdays.
So how are we celebrating in Littleton?
150th Birthday- Denver & Rio Grande Railroad Depot
Historic Littleton, Inc. and the City of Littleton will celebrate the 150th birthday of the Denver and Rio Grande (D & RG ) Railroad depot located at 5790 S. Prince St. on Saturday, May 16, at 2:00 p.m.
The D & RG Railroad was the first railroad to provide rail service to Littleton, arriving in 1871. Four years later, in 1875, the depot was built with rhyolite stone quarried from Castle Rock. The depot was designated as a Littleton landmark over 50 years ago.
