Carson Nature Center & South Platte Park

The Carson Nature Center is a destination in itself, and an ideal launching point for walking, running, or biking the Mary Carter Greenway or fishing and kayaking on the South Platte River. The center offers a vast number of family-friendly resources and educational opportunities, including a model and interactive water table that recreates the area’s famous flood of 1965. Visitors can observe live animals in the center’s museum or participate in programs guided by interpretive naturalists for a variety of ages and interests. Staff are professionally certified through the National Association for Interpretation, and programs include family walks, youth camps, campfires, and wildlife watching.
